The Testing Team is seeking an intern to assist in performing structural, environmental, and functional testing of flight critical components and systems for our eVTOL aircraft. This person will work closely with other engineers on the team to provide hand-on support with various testing projects. We expect our interns to take on a lot of ownership but will provide support and guidance to allow them to grow and be successful in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Support design engineers in hands-on work, assembly, component ordering and BOM creation
- Design and analyze mechanical test and support equipment under the supervision of a team peer using CAD based tools
- Generate engineering drawings, and support equipment fabrication.
- Manage small projects from conception to completion
Required
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated with B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or another relevant discipline and is sophomore level or higher
- Mechanical or aerospace design, electro-mechanical systems OR
- Mechanical Design, Thermal systems, Electrical/power engineering, machine control (PLCs, robotics)
- Supportive curriculum- Knowledge of design practices, materials and basic analysis with relevant coursework
Desired
Relevant educational focus - structures/composites, electromechanical/robotics, and/or controls engineering
A nugget of experience - something either from prior internships or clubs, etc.
A dash of wow - A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to listen and learn effectively. Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for work and projects
The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $20-32/hr. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,400-$7,500/month. Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.
