Joe's Trailer Mfg. Inc. is a family owned and operated open trailer manufacturer, Trailer service center, and Trailer retail store that has been in operation for more than 50 years.
The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing trailers to ensure they are in safe and efficient working condition. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and collaborating with other maintenance staff to efficiently repair trailers for our customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Inspection and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using diagnostic tools and manual methods.
- Document and report findings to the Maintenance Supervisor/Sales Representative
- Document and Diagnose electrical wiring issues.
Repairs and Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as brake adjustments, tire replacement/mounting, and lubrication.
- Repair or replace damaged components, including but not limited to brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Welding and Fabrication:
- Utilize welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify trailer components.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Document parts used, hours worked, and details of repairs for reporting and future reference.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other mechanics and maintenance/Sales staff to prioritize and schedule repairs.
- Communicate effectively with Sales Reps and other team members regarding the status of trailers.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure trailers comply with local and federal standards.
Inventory Management:
- Keep track of inventory levels for spare parts and tools and supplies
- Communicate with the Sales team to ensure the availability of necessary parts.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Physical dexterity and stamina for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
