Job Description

A unique neighborhood tavern is looking to add to its team. We are generally gritty, refined, social, playful, intelligent, and (perhaps, above all) creative people looking for someone of equal enthusiasm to join our team.

We have a real love for everything cocktail, especially replicating the classics with consistency and accuracy. In addition to our cocktail program, we offer a truly great elevated food experience, with great steaks, fresh fish, memorable appetizers, deserts and daily menu specials. We work hard, we like and respect each other, we know our customers' names and they know ours. Our cocktail program is one of the best in the Los Angeles area. This job will start as a part time bartender (3-4 shifts per week) to give the successful applicant time to learn our cocktail program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve food orders and drinks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix ingredients to prepare batched cocktails
• Take food orders and sometimes provide table service
• Check customers’ vaccinations, identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Skills

• Strong desire and some experience in creating world class cocktails
• Interest and knowledge in whiskeys and other ingredients in cocktails
• Computer literacy/ Aloha POS knowledge
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
