Who you are:
As an Applications System Analyst for Johns Hopkins Health Plans, you will be a go-to subject matter expert for our most mission critical member and provider centric applications and solutions. You will leverage your SQL query writing, SSIS package creation, Team Foundations (TFS) tracking, and database management experience to triage JHHP’s applications, systems, vendor integrations, and Member & Provider portal issues. You own the process, the relationships, and the approach on how to resolve issues and get things done. This is a customer-facing role and you are as comfortable behind the scenes as you are interfacing with your customers.
What you’ll do:
- Within assigned areas of responsibility and minimal supervision, collaborates independently with business and technical resources to identify, analyze, prioritize, and resolve system issues
- Develops, supports, and manages application code, user interfaces, and third-party integration components
- Advise on potential application modifications, enhancements, smoke testing, patching, or business process changes as appropriate
- You’ll also advise business and technical counterparts regarding current system functionality as well as potential roadmap considerations.
- Solicit and document customer’s requirements, then leverage your development/delivery skills to facilitate the completion and ongoing maintenance and support of new enhancements/features/updates post go-live
What you bring:
- 5 years’ experience with enterprise applications in the areas of requirements gathering, requirements definition and analysis, and business analysis, or other general system support tasks.
- Experience in conducting independent analysis and providing interpretation of regulatory guidelines and rules to demonstrate compliance with Federal and State requirements.
- Strategize with PMO, Legal and Compliance as needed to identify the best response to the new rules/ policies created by CMS and the state
- Experience with SQL query writing and relational database concepts. Experience with SSIS packages, Visual Studio, and Visio (building diagram program)
- Good understanding of EDI transactions 270/271, 835, 837, 276/277
- Experienced working with Facets and Facets data models and data extracts
- Experience working with Facets online modules such as billing, provider, claims and membership modules
- This is a customer-facing role. This person needs strong communication skills both written and oral (in person and virtually) and is comfortable with internal and external customers (at all seniority levels)
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to perform a Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Working knowledge of healthcare or health insurance terminology and the basics of information systems support.
- Bachelor’s degree in business and management, human resources, information systems, computer science, or another related field, or equivalent experience
