Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Digital Media Group serves as a central strategic leader in the exploration, development, execution, and analysis of a video production that connects the people of the world to the people of Johns Hopkins Medicine. Serving all aspects of the three-part mission of research, education and patient care, the team creates multi-media content across platforms and strategic need. From marketing to internal communications, training/education, recruitment, development, to physician referral, patient acquisition, broadcast, editorial, and social media, all combine to connect with our customers (physicians, patients, students, community, media) to meet engagement, acquisition and retention goals
Summary:
The Assistant Video Director position supports video production by creating critical content that directly impacts the achievement of a critical results with system- or entity-wide impact. The ideal candidate is a well-organized, excellent storyteller committed to high-quality video production, and is a seasoned leader comfortable with moving fluidly between strategy, execution, and operations, while understanding the institutional and departmental priorities.
They collaborate with the Director of Video Services and production, the Creative Director of Video Services, and the Video Production/Traffic Administrator to manage video productions and business planning with the capability to interpret industry trends and analyze data, and possess critical thinking skills to identify corrective courses of action.

Education: Undergraduate degree in video and/or multi-media production, communications or directly related creative field.
Work Experience: 7 years of experience as a video editor/producer, preferable in healthcare setting. Management experience is preferred.
