GENERAL SUMMARY: Under guidance from the Director, Reimbursement and Revenue Management, prepares the Medicare Cost Report and other regulatory filings. Develops and implements procedures for the preparation and submission of third party reports; and maximizes the hospital’s net patient revenue through properly interpreting regulations, effectively managing third party auditors and utilizing an appeal process when appropriate. Develops and implements procedures for hospital revenue budgeting systems; assist management in developing and controlling revenue budgets through utilization decision support systems.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required and a Master’s Degree in Business or Health Administration is desirable. Two to three years of progressively responsible managed care/third party reimbursement experience within a hospital, intermediary, consulting, or managed care related company is essential. Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement mechanisms, especially Medicare.
