Position Summary:
Clinic Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day clinic operations and clinical infrastructure for the Pediatric Ambulatory Services. Under the direction of the Assistant Administrator in the department of Pediatrics, with indirect reporting to the specific clinic and Administrator of Ambulatory Services, the Clinic Operations Manager proactively assesses and implements appropriate processes to ensure that all facets of clinical operational support are effectively addressed. This includes: patient access, complete and accurate registration, hospital revenue cycle management, payor contracting compliance, insurance referral and preauthorization requirements, EPIC template building, health information management, patient flow, environmental safety, regulatory compliance, patient safety, quality initiatives, and patient experience. The Manager position directly trains and supervises designated clinic staff with responsibility for employee on-boarding, development, and engagement. The Clinic Operations Manager supports clinical program needs across all relevant levels in the Children’s Center, and works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, ancillary services, and clinic staff to ensure timely patient access to care, operational efficiency, practice optimization, and fiscal integrity.

Competencies:
A. Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; Experience in clinical settings and Master’s degree preferred in relevant field (e.g, Business Administration, Health Administration).
B. Knowledge:
- Work requires high level of professional knowledge in order to perform a wide-range of administrative duties.
- Understanding of ambulatory practice management, physician office and clinical operations including appointment scheduling and registration
- Knowledge of third party insurance and accountable/managed care concepts
- Knowledge of physician/psychologist billing, hospital billing and regulatory requirements preferred
- Familiarity with computer applications and ability to learn and serve as procedure area point person for applications such as Microsoft Office, Epic, Kronos and SAP, etc.

D. Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.
Successful completion of departmental training program and all related competency assessments. Certification in various computer systems as necessary.
E. Work Experience
Three to five years in a clinic or hospital setting with practice management or supervisory experience required
F. F. Machines, Tools, Equipment:
Requires proficiency on multi-line telephone, CRT, copier, calculator, fax machine, all computer systems including scheduling, registration, billing, and insurance eligibility systems.
