Clinical Technician - Zayed 5W (CCU)

The Cardiac Care Unit is a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit. The staff cares for patients with acute myocardial infarction and complications including cardiogenic shock, post-infarction angina, and congestive heart failure. We also care for many other critically ill patients suffering from severe cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, and life-threatening arrhythmias. This is a cardiac medicine unit, therefore patients’ post-CABG, valve replacements, transplant, and LVAD placement are transferred to the CVSICU (Surgical ICU) for recovery.

Shifts: 12 Hour Rotating, Shifts

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required

1 year of acute care (hospital) tech experience during the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)

BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
