Job Duties:
Responsible for provision of pastoral care to patients, families and staff during the evening, night and weekend shifts.
Education: Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master’s of Divinity degree
Certification/Licensure: An Ecclesiastical Letter of Endorsement by a recognized religious conference/synod required. Also requires completion of a minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training. Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training preferred. Must obtain certification as a chaplain with a nationally recognized certifying body within one year of hire. Recognized organizations include the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, the National Association of Jewish Chaplains, and the Association of Professional Chaplains. Other organizations would need to be vetted, have requirements for certification comparable to these organizations, and provide approval as certifying chaplains at a benchmarked standard of excellence with annual peer review included in on-going certification
Experience: one year of general hospital Chaplain experience
