Pharmacy Assistant Manager (Operations Coordinator)

Baltimore, MD Full Time
POSTED ON 5/6/2024

Since 1983, Johns Hopkins Care at Home has provided safe, high-quality and cost-effective care in the home and community. Our team links care across multiple sites for patients, families and colleagues in an effort to restore, maintain and promote health and reduce the effects of disease and disability. As part of Johns Hopkins Medicine, we have access to the most innovative treatments and latest research, and we emphasize education and training among our team members. We also collaborate with doctors, nurses and specialists throughout Johns Hopkins Medicine to ensure continuity of your care.

The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing daily operations within our pharmacy, collaborating closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operations within our pharmacy team and stepping in to address urgent personnel or operational matters as needed.

Additionally, this role involves interpreting prescriptions, compounding, and dispensing medications according to orders from physicians and authorized prescribers. The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator utilizes their expertise in medications to provide valuable information to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring safe and effective medication use.

The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator will undertake various tasks assigned by the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, operating under moderate supervision while having the autonomy to apply initiative and judgment to meet the pharmacy's operational needs effectively. In the absence of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator assumes their responsibilities.
