What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Coordinator position at Johnson Controls, Inc.?
What you will do:
Supplier and Operations scheduling for areas assigned, interaction with suppliers and operations of responsibility, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, managing supplier and operations replenishment strategies, tracking performance, offering continuous improvement opportunities.
How you will do it:
- Generate in a timely manner supplier schedules that optimize efficiencies in production and transportation.
- Monitor, track, and report on supplier compliance to delivery due dates, identify risks to late delivery, handle escalations with suppliers according to JCI procedure.
- Coordinates with Manufacturing, Production Schedulers, Quality and Engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meet customer demands.
- Maintains Replenishment signals to assure a smooth flow of materials to the Manufacturing floor and enable Operational efficiency.
- Manages daily support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities, and addressing supply issues.
- Manage consignment programs for materials and blanket purchasing agreements.
- Supports activities from department to ensure customer delivery on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, Inventory DOH and transportation execution are met while maximizing quality and minimizing cost.
- Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.
- Operates within budget and contributes to the overall reduction of overhead and expenses.
- Provides constraint information for area of responsibility for S&OP process.
What we look for:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields through experience in Demand Planning / SCM department of a large company
- In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional years of related experience.
- Must have analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
- Extended knowledge of MRP and ERP experience is a must.
- Where legally permissible, you further will be required upon commencement of employment to indicate your vaccination status as it relates to the COVID-19 vaccine by providing your indication in the vaccination tracking tool.
Preferred:
- A four-year degree.
- SAP experience.
- Current and maintained APICS Certification or other accredited certification
