We are seeking a Safety Documentation Specialist to join our federal team on site at our Huntsville, AL office. This team has the unique experience to support our broader business with the necessary safety documentation that we provide to the federal government on a regular basis.

Location: Huntsville, AL office. Must be able to work in the office daily (not a remote/work from home position)
Hours: Primarily 8:00am â 5:00pm, Monday â Friday
Pay range: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)

As a Safety Documentation Specialist, you will:
- Follow established procedures and work under the direction of the Field Safety Manager and serve as a member of the safety leadership staff.
- Collaborate with other Documentation Specialists located in the Huntsville Program Management Office.
- Ensure timely preparation, delivery & submittal of mandatory safety documents, including Accident Prevention Plans (APP's), monthly safety reports, responses to inquiries and incident notifications
- Assist with compiling and reviewing APPâs and Activity Hazard Analyses to ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1.
- Assist with written safety and health policies and documents in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including the Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual, EM 385-1-1 and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Prepare accepted documents for distribution to the Huntsville Center (CEHNC), site-based teams, and outside subcontractors to include hard copies and electronic copies.
- Maintain safety database (i.e., safety files, records, etc.), to include tracking and logging safety documents into the safety database
- Provide technical support to corporate and project site personnel to ensure compliance with applicable Corps of Engineers Safety & Health regulations and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain and distribute scheduled reports detailing the status of safety documents and submissions, safety metrics, and records of employee safety training.
- Work with Adobe Acrobat Pro and Nitro Pro to manipulate documents, add text, add pictures, add files, adjust page orientation, add signatures, bookmark documents, etc.
- Work with Microsoft Word to convert to Adobe or Nitro files, insert pictures and objects, and complete detailed table of contents, appendixes and tables.
- Utilize Procore Software to receive, review, accept, approve and upload final approved files for safety related documents.
- Enter all USACE documents into RMS (Resident Management System Software).
- Adhere to tight and multiple deadlines when needed .
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrate advanced level knowledge and experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro or Nitro Pro; ability to manipulate documents, add text, add pictures, add files, adjust page orientation, add signatures, bookmark documents, etc.
- Advanced level knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word; ability to convert to Adobe/Nitro files, insert pictures and objects, create detailed table of contents, appendixes and tables, link table of contents, bookmark documents, etc.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple, diverse projects including analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem solving, decision making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong communications skills with the ability to support multiple, tight deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with safety regulations and standards; Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA), etc
- Experience developing physical safety plans (fire, tornado, safe shelter, etc.).
- Comprehension of OSHA & USACE Regulations, including OSHA Outreach (30-hour) training requirements.
- Technical writing skills strongly preferred.
- Experience working with the Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 safety standards.
- Experience working with the Army Corps of Engineers RMS system.

Preferred Education:
- Associateâs Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related field.
