Description
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Warehouse Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing the warehouse operations in Newark, Delaware in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include directing and administering the organization’s warehouse management systems, policies, programs, physical inventories, and initiatives. This position will collaborate with the retail supply chain team for order management and product procurement for the entire retail division in the US and will oversee a team of supervisors and staff at the location.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Delivery Management:
· Responsible for the daily warehouse inventory control, reconcilement, cycle count program and task assignment
· Responsible for the accuracy of finished goods and parts inventory and company-wide adjustments
· Perform root cause analysis on inventory inaccuracies and implement programs designed to minimize losses and/or inventory shrinkage
· Create and maintain inventory reports and metrics
· Assist with the shipping and receiving of merchandise and keep accurate documentation
· Communicate receiving issues when product arrives incorrectly from vendors and factory
· Follow and disseminate the goals and objectives set by the company to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency in improving the operations
· Ensure staff is performing tasks in accordance with job responsibilities which includes following all safety policies and procedures
· Develop and implement programs designed to minimize external and internal losses and/or inventory shrinkage.
· Ensure that safety policies are understood and followed by all personnel.
· Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees.
· Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance and maintenance prevention program on all motorized equipment used in the transportation operation.
· Collaborate closely with onsite management teams of all site operations and keep the Director of Warehouse Operations informed to all pertinent factors related to site performance..
Supervisory:
· Responsible for staffing, terminations, disciplinary actions, training, and developing subordinates.
· Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.
· Responsible for ensuring accuracy of timecards and approving them in a timely manner.
Marginal Job Functions:
· Other projects as needed.
Requirements
Education:
· High school degree or equivalent required
· Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
· Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a warehouse role with prior inventory control and leadership experience
· Experience with SAP
Other Requirements:
· Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Strong problem solving skills
· Strong analytical skills
