Assistant Controller (Direct Hire)

This Assistant Controller role will report directly to the Controller and Executive Director and develop working relationships with shareholders, attorneys, and staff throughout the firm. As Assistant Controller you will be tasked with coordinating and oversight of all day-to-day accounting activities of the firm, including:
Developing a deep understanding of the accounting department functions to analyze current functions and make recommendations for efficiencies and automation.
Understanding the functions of billing, AR, AP, payroll, invoice preparation/processing, reporting, taxes, banking, financial reporting, and budgeting
Assisting with the supervision of the accounting team
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory accounting experience
Prior experience in a law firm or office setting desirable
Thorough knowledge of GAAP standards and all local, state, and federal regulations
Must possess strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of data
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The Assistant Controller is a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Springfield. Salary range is $55, 000-$90, 000 annually depending upon experience.
