In this role, you’ ll work under the leadership team to maintain the accounting system and several key accounting functions. Some of your tasks include the following:
A/P and A/R
Job costing (from payroll, through job cost, to invoicing and collections)
Sales tax for MA and CT
Processing payroll
Monthly close (work with an outside accountant on year-end close and tax filings)
On the administrative side, you’ ll be working with a small, tight-knit team to help with answering phones, taking messages, and working on contracts. Being a small business, everyone’ s role here is crucial, and each member of the team is highly valued. This is a great role for someone who works well independently and who naturally finds solutions and teaches themselves new concepts as their role evolves
Bookkeeper Requirements
At least five years of general ledger experience and experience in job costing
Bachelor’ s degree preferred (in lieu of degree, at least 8 years of experience with a strong technical bookkeeping background)
Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws governing payroll and taxes
Strong proficiency in Office and willing/able to learn additional systems quickly
