The MedTech organization encompasses three Franchises (Ethicon, CSS, DPS), spanning four geographic regions (EMEA, LATAM, ASPAC and North America). The MedTech Supply Chain supports $23 billion USD in Sales, Global Net Inventory of $4 billion, and > 180,000 SKUs (2020 actuals)

Position Summary:
The E2E and NPI Global Lead is responsible for developing, deploying and executing best in class End to End and New Product Innovation Planning processes, strategies, tools and system integrations to build capabilities for our Plan organization. Additionally, the Global Lead will assure integration of the E2E and NPI Planning model ensuring consistent and efficient inputs and outputs. Responsibilities include assuming ownership for all blueprint documents (e.g. SIPOC, RACI, Process Decomposition etc.), roadmaps and strategy for maturing and deploying capabilities and ensuring seamless integration of processes and systems.

Responsible for influencing large-scale global and regional teams to collect, analyze, consolidate, and report key data, improving the decision-making process to optimize processes and results (impact) across the global business.
Responsible for maintaining senior leader engagement in the process to ensure that decisions are taken within the process and progress is being delivered to plan with respect to full deployment and benefit of blueprint.
Ensures the balance between standardization versus harmonization with franchise & region-specific needs using a fact-based approach

Key Relationships
This position will work closely with various Supply Chain stakeholders including but not limited to:
  • Franchise & Region NPI and E2E Leaders in Plan function at all levels of the organization
  • Key stakeholders across the Supply Chain / Deliver and Commercial organizations accountable for NPI and E2E processes (e.g. STEM) and results.
  • MedTech Plan team (PMO and GPEx organization)
  • Enterprise Plan Excellence Leaders at all levels of the organization including other segment leaders with similar job accountabilities


Key Responsibilities:

The Global Planning Process Lead will focus on improving franchise maturity, supported by the deployment within the franchise of business process owners (BPO). The focus and priority will be to drive overall improved MedTech operational performance thru prioritization and more rapid adoption and deployment of best-in-class practices. Responsibility will include development, deployment and execution according to process standards as per MedTech Plan blueprint and supporting Enterprise standards. Maintain standard systems and analytics strategies essential in executing Plan processes and solutions across MedTech Planning organizations
Lead the process and capability maturity in a standard and harmonized manner across all MedTech franchises and regions.

  • Determines E2E and NPI planning capability needs and implements people development, process, and technology strategies to ensure continual improvement in business results
  • Ensures E2E and NPI Planning teams have strong processes that integrate across all Processes to provide transparency of risks and opportunities to drive profitable trade-off decisions
  • Define, document, and operationalize scenario planning processes
  • Operationalize e2e planner role including change management elements for successful deployment
  • Manage and oversee system enhancements process and prioritization of enhancements based on business urgency, funding, and resourcing.
  • Drives implementation of best practices in E2E and NPI planning. Utilizes process excellence/ six sigma tools to drive continuous improvement of E2E planning processes.
  • Actively manage and develop internal talent to build MedTech capabilities in NPI and E2E processes to build efficient and highly effective teams
  • Benchmark best practices internal and external to J&J and incorporate into MedTech NPI and E2E processes and systems architecture.

  • Lead large transformation efforts within the segment supply chain organization aligned with the global supply chain strategy.
  • Implement global standards while maintaining a strong franchise and regional execution in partnership with the business.
  • Strong relationship development, conflict resolution, and team building instincts, with the ability to build partnerships both internally and externally. Makes the customer central to all thinking.
  • Ability to develop, coach and guide a team (direct and indirect) in the execution, strategies, and realization of functional and company goals.
  • Ability to forge collaboration across all levels of the enterprise, internally & externally.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms
  • Incorporates an integrated understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain to anticipate cross-functional impacts, interdependencies, and trade-offs.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strength in interdependent partnering and team management.
  • ERP or APS system knowledge and practical application would be preferred


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Operations or related discipline is required. Masters and MBA highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of related Supply Chain experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years people management/supervisory experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain Planning experience is required.
  • Strong background / experience in Plan processes and systems is required.
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certifications & Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ IBF) desirable
  • This position is located in Bridgewater, NJ, and other Hub locations (e.g. Zug, Brussels) will be considered on a case by case basis. This position may require an average 10-20% of travel
