Johnstone Supply, Inc., the nation’s largest HVACR distribution Cooperative, has a great opportunity for Material Handlers to join our team at our Vegas distribution center. Our Vegas facility, at approximately 130,000 square feet, is a fast-paced operation that provides high level quality service to our Southwest membership base.

Position description:

• Operates high-height power equipment (order picker and reach truck, capable of 25’ reach) in a safe and efficient manner to put away, move, locate, stack checked in products to correct storage locations on a daily basis. This includes stocking picking stock, filling bin boxes, facing cartons, checking for product mixing, and rotating product where needed; monitoring stock on shelves or bins; replenishing picking stock from reserves; maintaining control of products in reserve stock area.
• Receives product into the Distribution Center by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet or by hand.
• Ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by: inspecting freight for damage and signing freight bills; verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received; checking all shipments against packing lists; and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
• Ensures all required product has verified bar code labels and human readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards, and follows department standard operating procedures.
• Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Completing any additional tasks or duties designated by the Distribution Center Supervisor.

Position responsibilities:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 - 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to work in a safely in all job tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to attend to details.
• Ability to get along with others in the workplace.
• Ability to complete routine paperwork.
