Tasks
Duties/Responsibilities
- Uses Microsoft Excel, to create and maintain material lists for jobs in all three Ball Homes markets. Creates job specific material lists using existing primary material list for each house type and elevation. Make changes per the customer's selections of standard options and custom request. These lists include lumber, windows, doors, cabinets, as well as various other building materials and products.
- Communicates with lumber suppliers on a regular basis, typically via email.
- Communicates with field superintendents to troubleshoot problems of material shortages and/or overages.
- Completes and maintains various Excel documents related to builder rebate programs.
- Performs a peer review of other material lists to ensure accuracy.
- Assembles construction documents for each job for field personnel. These packets include plans, paperwork, various signs and notices, and other documents used for the job.
- Creates new material lists as new floor plans are developed. Must be able to read and interpret floor plans/construction documents.
- Maintains primary material list based on information from the field (overages, shortages, etc.) and/or master plan changes
- Periodically visits job sites to check accuracy of material list once jobs are underway.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/ Abilities/Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Comfortable with and functions within a team- oriented environment.
- Minimum of three years' experience estimating-specifically lumber.
- Broad knowledge of residential construction.
