Distribution Auditor

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Monitor customer orders to ship on time. If an order cannot ship, the employee will analyze it, determine why it will not ship, and communicate the information to the appropriate personnel. Coordinate and analyze distribution inventory procedures and processes. Reconcile inventory discrepancies; research and analyze causes; generate and govern prevention.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):

• Make decisions based on individual customer requirements.
• Assist and communicate with others within and outside of MD Building Products.
• Must have a working knowledge of all distribution policies, procedures, and warehouse management systems. Must be analytical in resolving shipping and finished goods inventory issues.
• Provide Oracle training and assistance to all Oracle system users.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory records on Oracle.
• Research, analyze, and approve cycle counts out of tolerance. Analyze and decide on the validity of all cycle check adjustments.
• Participate in project teams to help maintain inventory and shipping accuracy.
• Monitor inventory on items in discontinued status; when depleted, update item attributes and alert correspondences.
• Assign and update item attributes, pack file data, freight class, and type codes for appropriate new and existing products.
• Approve and make the final decision regarding the acceptance of inventory adjustments. The employee must constantly exercise common sense to develop logical answers.
• Assist in the slotting of new products and/or re-slotting existing products.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Marginal tasks performed on this job):

• As directed, perform associated activities requiring comparable skills to those activities normally assigned.
• Assist and troubleshoot for customer service consultants.
• Must be able to interact with employees professionally at all times.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS (Needed to perform this job specifically):

• Good writing skills are required for the completion of daily records.
• Good verbal skills are required to transfer or interpret problem explanations and to receive and understand work assignments.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs and Oracle system.
• 10-key by touch.
• Advanced math skills.

EQUIPMENT (Machines, devices, tools, personal protective equipment, etc. used on this job): 

Personal computer, RF computer, calculator, eye protection, and safety shoes

1st Shift hours are 6:30 am-3:00 pm Monday - Friday
