FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER

M-D Building Products is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage/Housekeeping Manager to join our team. The Manager’s responsibilities will include ensuring that all meals are properly prepared and presented, resolving customer complaints, and expediting service during busy periods by assisting in serving customers and processing payments. The successful Food and Beverage/Housekeeping Manager should be detail-oriented and knowledgeable about food health, janitorial requirements, and safety regulations. An exceptional Food and Beverage/Housekeeping Manager can multitask and demonstrate excellent leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Essential Functions:

• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly menus that accommodate employees' dietary needs and preferences.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
• Ensure a welcoming and comfortable dining atmosphere.
• Address and resolve customer/employee feedback and concerns promptly.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to meet sanitation standards.
• Ensure the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Monitor and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including food handling, storage, and temperature control.
• Collaborate with relevant regulatory agencies as necessary.
• Foster teamwork, productivity, and a positive work environment.
• Assess staffing needs and recruit staff by partnering with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, providing training, and managing food service/housekeeping staff.
• Establish standards for staff performance and customer service.
• Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
• Record the number, type, and cost of items sold to determine which items may be unpopular or less profitable.
• Monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions to ensure expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
• Scheduling employee work hours to ensure that all shifts are adequately covered.
• Reviewing and submitting timesheets for payroll and maintaining employment records.
• Ensuring that customers are served quality food on time.
• Regularly inspect all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
• Taking inventory of food supplies and other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries.
• Reviewing sales records to determine which menu items are most preferred and profitable.
• As needed, arrange cleaning and maintenance services, including trash removal, pest control, deep cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
• Schedule use of facilities or catering services for events such as banquets or receptions and negotiate details of arrangements with vendors.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• A bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management, food service management, or a related field is preferred.
• Food protection manager certification (FPMC) or Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) accreditation is advantageous.
• Proven experience working in the food service industry and janitorial knowledge.
• Sound knowledge of labor laws, food health, janitorial, and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
