Job Summary:
Jones Family Eyecare is a growing private practice optometry clinic seeking a Full-time Optometrist with great communication skills and work ethic to work 4 days per week. No weekends or evenings. Practice full-scope optometry in the great city of Brandon, SD which is a suburb of Sioux Falls, SD, the largest city in South Dakota. The Brandon vicinity has nearly any amenity you could find in any city as well as an abundance of outdoor recreational activities. Brandon has been ranked best city to live in South Dakota multiple times with excellent schools. It is a wonderful place to raise a family or retire. South Dakota has no state income tax and offers a high quality of life with low cost of living.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess patients' visual acuity and overall eye health.
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Prescribe corrective lenses or medications as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and opticians, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state license to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and diseases.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing eye conditions.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, adults, and seniors.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively explain diagnoses and treatment plans to patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
