What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Event Manager position at Joni and Friends?
Duties
- Plan and implement Retreats and Getaways, Family Plus, and other events (Event) with U.S. Ministries and Global Operations oversight
- Attend regular Event meetings (local team and Global Operations) as designated
- Recruit qualified individuals for leadership positions
- Gain the necessary knowledge to maintain data accuracy for each JAF system associated with Events
- Ensure accuracy and finalize all family and volunteer registrations
- Participate in ongoing communication for support to all Event leaders and teams
- Act as liaison between Joni and Friends and event venue staff
- Manage processing of scholarship requests
- Oversee volunteer training
- Complete pre- and post-Event packing and unpacking
- Maintain communication with Global Operations and other JAF departments to remain current on administrative procurement, and program updates and requirements
- Coordinate with vendors for facilities, sub-events, and support services
- Serve as primary contact for attendees (families, volunteers, and special guests) leading up to the Event
- Use only JAF branding for each Event to include current theme Retreat and Getaway artwork provided by JAF Global Operations
- Attend and lead the designated Event
- Lead or participate in the post-Event debrief documenting recommendations for future events
- Complete reports and other post-Event responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Event budget and finances
- Policies – Coordinate with the Ministry Operations Manager, Global Operations, and the Manager, Field Operations to adhere to policies and processes for optimal organizational impact
- Other activities and projects as needed to fulfill the mission of Joni and Friends
Qualifications
- Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
- Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
- An Associate’s degree or above is preferred
- Candidates must be able to travel on an intermittent basis locally
- Demonstrate an ability to plan and execute across all departmental functions
- Ability to be a servant leader who can lead and support Area Ministry staff
- Candidate must be able to implement the vision and mission of Joni and Friends as expressed in operational goals for the event
- Strength in integration management of ideas and processes; interpersonal and networking skills; conflict resolution, team building, budgeting, planning, and reporting
- Candidate must possess the necessary skills to bridge relations between various volunteers of the ministry
- Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
- Experience in public speaking, multi-department communication, and team communication
Compensation $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
