What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Steward position at Jorgensen Farms?
Summary:
Jorgensen Farms is made up of multiple divisions, creating a unique agritourism environment that blends organic farming with special events. Land Stewards team members will participate in maintaining agricultural and horticultural activities on the 100-acre property under the supervision of the Head Gardener and Lead Gardener.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects and maintains gravel paths, driveways, lots, and lanes to ensure safety and readiness of use
- Collects and removes trash and recycling from grounds
- Conducts routine mowing of large tracts
- Maintains ornamental wood stacks
- Ensures equipment is properly fueled and maintained
- Clears fallen limbs and nuisance foliage from grounds and venues
- Performs general gardening and farming tasks, including but not limited to: weeding, edging, pruning, trellising, direct-seeding, mulching, planting, and harvesting
- Conducts general housekeeping and cleaning tasks in designated Garden team areas
- Contributes to livestock chores
- Contributes to propagation and field irrigation
- Contributes to Saturday Market (TBD)
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Whatever it takes to create a comfortable, welcoming, and supportive environment for all staff and guests

- Able to stay on task
- Able to work weekends as well as shifts up to 10 hours in length
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to – standing, bending, stooping, walking, squatting, reaching; and lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. overhead
- 1 year of outdoor physical labor strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Have the willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done
