BUYER II

Description

• Assist in creating and issuing purchase orders to domestic and international vendors to satisfy customer orders, production orders, and stocking levels.
• Evaluate stocking levels based on historical transactions and sales forecasts to minimize the inventory required to satisfy customers.
• Ensure daily operations of procurement with vendors runs smoothly and efficiently by enforcing company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the item master for assigned products.
• Maintain the accuracy of the purchase order delivery dates, pricing, minimum order quantities, lead time, etc.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret purchasing data from ERP reports, sales reports, and market research. Identify trends and patterns related to price, supply, volume, and mix, to provide insights for improved pricing and procurement performance.
• Build and communicate procurement scorecards to drive action. Assess and communicate performance.
• Initiate, negotiate, and coordinate vendor contracts and new vendor set-up documentation.
• Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency.
• Other duties may be assigned and subject to change in accordance with business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement.
• Mastering concepts of lead time, package size, cost, usage etc. to make purchasing decisions.
• Working knowledge of purchasing techniques including RFQs, blanket orders and product demand discounts that improve strategic costing capabilities.
• Professional negotiating skills to attain highest quality products at the most favorable cost.
• Analytical skill to determine trends in product usage and anticipate requirements.
• Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
• Experience in Excel managing data with advanced formulas and functions.
• Ability to interact smoothly with all other departments in solving product shortage related.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, timely, and professionally within our team and with external vendors.

• The pay range for this position is $24/h to $30/h. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
