Job Title: Family Preservation Supervisor
Department: Family Services
Employment Status: Full-time/Regular/Exempt
Qualifications: A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct. Must hold a basic belief that children are meant to grow up within their family of origin whenever possible. A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family, or related Human Service field is required. Must possess a current license issued by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board, or be able to obtain upon hire. Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would limit the ability to perform job functions. Must successfully complete provided training in evidence based models of family treatment upon hire.

Job Summary: The Family Preservation Supervisor directs and coordinates all caseload work and clinical services within assigned programming. This individual is responsible for providing training, treatment direction, case specific supervision, caseload assignment, and the approval of all written work of direct care staff under their supervision. This individual must have an understanding of clinical issues, treatment programming concepts, and counseling. This individual will ensure program compliance with all agency policies and procedures. This individual will create, reinforce, and evaluate staff contribution to a positive and therapeutic culture within Family Services programs. This individual must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Basic Responsibilities
Treatment Oversight
- Implement, and maintain therapeutically sound treatment programming for children, youth, and families in care in line with Josiah White's mission, philosophy, and identified treatment modalities.
- Ensure program compliance with all agency policies and procedures. Provide accurate, definitive direction to staff regarding agency policies and procedures; troubleshoot new issues as they arise and provide consistent feedback.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness, identify programmatic enhancements, and coordinate implementation of new program strategies with appropriate Program Director aimed toward ensuring positive outcomes for families served.
- Assess referrals for Family Preservation Services.
- Assign caseloads and provide case-specific supervision with direct care staff.
- Provide treatment direction and oversight through individual supervision, treatment team facilitation, and direct oversight of service provision.
- Review and approve all relevant treatment documentation including but not limited to: Treatment Plans, Session Notes, Monthly Progress Reports, and Safety Assessments.
- Supervise the provision of evidenced-based treatment modalities including but not limited to CBT, MI, Seeking Safety, the Community Advocacy Project, and Triple P, ensuring treatment fidelity.
- Provide ongoing and daily support and direction to direct care staff.
- Provide 24/7 clinical and administrative oversight to direct care crisis response for families served.
- Ensure that all case documentation is approved and submitted for filing within appropriate timeframes.
- Ensure that Preservation Service files are properly maintained and meet standards established by contract requirements and accrediting bodies.
- Ensure client and customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem solving.
- May support supervision of other programs during times of coverage need or when other programming does not warrant a dedicated supervisor
Community Liaison and Public Relations
- Represent the organization and Family Services programming in professional settings.
- Maintain working relationships with referral agencies and promote Josiah White’s.
- Attend to referral agency concerns.
- Engage stakeholders as appropriate.
Supervision
- Assist Regional Manager in hiring of direct care staff for the assigned coverage area
- Supervise support personnel as needed
Professional development
- Pursue professional training as directed by the Regional Manager.
- Develop competencies in line with Josiah White’s needs and personal interests and skills.
General
- Build and maintain working relationships with other Josiah White’s managers
- Perform other duties assigned by the Regional Manager, Program Director, or Vice-President and Executive Director of Family Services.
Skills, Supervision, Knowledge, and Ability
- The Family Preservation Supervisor needs to be an individual with a Christian and professional commitment to work with staff, children, and youth of all ages, birth families, the referring agency, community professionals, and the Josiah White’s treatment team.
- Must possess strong leadership qualities and be a positive role model.
- Must demonstrate excellent public relation skills and represent Josiah White’s in a professional manner working to build strong relationships with outside agencies, both public and private, to develop a strong support base.
- Must be a person who takes initiative and works with minimal supervision.
- Must have advanced experience in using technology, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google workspace, and database utilization.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate the mission, vision, and concerns of Josiah White’s ministry in both oral and written communications.
- Must demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with diverse personalities.
- Must demonstrate high energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Must be dependable, well organized, and an effective time manager.
- Must have an understanding of clinical issues, treatment programming concepts, and counseling.
- Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Must be personable, genuine, empathetic and able to connect emotionally in their work with staff, children, parents, and other professionals.
- Must be a team player. This person needs to enjoy working closely with other staff members and have the ability to be flexible, adaptive, and positive in his/her actions.
- Must maintain appropriate hygiene and attire per dress code.
- Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Must be committed to the Mission, Core Values, and Vision of Josiah White’s.
Physical Demands of Position
- Must be able to drive long distances to do work at regional offices, attend meetings, do staff training, etc.
- Must be able to handle the stress of multiple roles and responsibilities, difficult personnel issues, attending to crises, and other unplanned events.
Working Conditions
- General office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Work in regional offices, attending meetings, conducting staff/community training, and other duties that often extend beyond these office hours.
- The Family Preservation Supervisor will be expected to respond to major incidents to provide guidance and be a resource to staff. His/her cell phone number will be given to staff to use outside regular office hours. In addition, the Family Preservation Supervisor must carry a cell phone with a voice mail option when not on vacation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
