Research Scientist II

Job Title:  Research Scientist II       
Location:  Iron Station, NC area
Hours / Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 1st Shift, Full Time
Type:  Direct Hire

Responsibilities
Performs method transfer  /validation / verification testing, write-up, reporting, and troubleshooting to support process, methods, and new product validation efforts.
Write, review, and/or interpret method transfer / validation / verification protocols and communicate with other departments to support successful method transfer efforts

• Execute method transfer / validation  /verification testing, including HPLC, GC, and other analyses as required by the protocol
• Perform peer audit in notebook, protocol, certificate of analysis, or other documentation as required
• Support other research scientist’s investigations, troubleshooting, and method development issues.
• Communicate with Research & Development as necessary
• Other duties as assigned by QC Manager

Requirements

• MS in Chemistry or related scientific field and three years of validation experience in a GMP regulated industry; BA/BS in Chemistry or related scientific field and at least ten years of validation experience in a GMP regulated industry
• Demonstrate knowledge of cGMPs, Safety, OSHA, and 21 CFR regulations/requirements
• Demonstrate ability to manage projects while executing work to meet established deadlines
• Demonstrate knowledge of technical aspects of validations, method transfers, and method development, including protocol writing, execution, and troubleshooting.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Analytical / technically-minded
• Proficient in technical writing
• Ability to multi-task under stress of multiple priorities
• Ability to understand complex chemical principles and theories
• Ability to clearly convey scientific principles and theories to other individuals
• Ability to develop and validate residual cleaning methods
• Experience in solid oral dose method validation and/or testing is preferred
