The Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries group is part of Commercial Bank at JPMorgan Chase and focuses on Domestic and International clients which require traditional banking services in addition to investment banking products. Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries group generally covers clients with revenues of $500mm to $2B . The Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries Business Management team works under the direction of industry and region-aligned banking group Business Managers to support market-specific data maintenance and client transfer submissions as well as provide support across various reporting requests, as well as ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives. 

As a Senior Associate Business Manager within the Commercial Bank, you will serve as the main liaison for bankers and product partners across various data management submissions. This role provides an opportunity to grasp the basics of commercial banking, collaborate with bankers to comprehend the client lifecycle across intricate portfolios, and offers a pathway to evolve into the Business Manager role, or other positions within Finance & Business Management. Additionally, you will work closely with the leaders of Green Economy Banking and Treasury Services sales teams to facilitate the achievement of business outcomes.
 

Job responsibilities

  • Support Business Managers in partnership with region/industry group leads including Group Heads and Treasury Services Sales Heads via tactical and strategic workstreams to help drive their businesses
  • Assist with key business management functions including project management, analysis of sales/management reporting, and ad-hoc requests related to banker’s client portfolios
  • Gain exposure and building knowledge of financial results and other data to understand business drivers to support opportunities to grow the business
  • Help manage the group’s portfolio by supporting strategic targeting efforts from a tactical perspective, and by executing data maintenance and client transfers between lines of business
  • Engage with bankers, treasury teams, and other key business partners such as client service, Know Your Customer, marketing, credit, investment banking, as well as additional lines of business across JPMorgan Chase to gather input, insights, and data, that feeds into reporting leveraged by Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries, senior management in Commercial Bank, and senior partners across the firm
  • Provide support to bankers as it pertains to systems and reporting tools such as Qlik Dashboard and Salesforce, while becoming subject matter experts in resulting reporting and researching issues as they arise such as product revenue misalignments and client profitability research/analysis
  • Assist with select Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries-wide Business Management efforts under the direction of Business Managers
  • Act as a local extension of Finance & Business Management by facilitating communication with the business, supporting Finance & Business Management efforts and working on joint projects
  • Identify areas for continued process improvement and enhance efficiencies by generating innovative ideas and solutions
  • Prepare presentation materials to be shared with management, business groups and other relevant stakeholders

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4 years of work experience
  • Commercial Banking, Business Management, strategy, finance, and project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
  • Execution and organizational skills – Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Able to quickly and effectively respond to rapidly changing business needs and urgent requests. Able to explore innovative ways to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Must be proactive, detail and results-oriented, and willing to drive change. Strong time management and follow-up skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task.
  • Communications skills – Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to present updates, requests, ideas and other communications in a professional, clear and concise manner. Proactively provides timely updates to Business Managers and others while working on projects/tasks.
  • Problem solving skills – Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities coupled with the ability to identify issues, gather and manipulate data, obtain consensus and implement change. Able to outline work process in a thoughtful and detailed manner. Intellectually curious with a genuine interest in knowledge gathering and problem solving.
  • Technical and analytical skills – Able to produce accurate, error-free analysis and reporting. Applies knowledge of the business and its drivers to ensure that the groups’ analyses are sound. Capable of synthesizing large amounts of data in Excel and from internal systems to develop strategic conclusions and action items
  • Interpersonal skills – Speaks and acts with the appropriate level of confidence and empowerment; demonstrates professional assertion. Ability to partner with Business Managers and actively listens to instructions, feedback and viewpoints from others while proactively seeking feedback. Able to collaborate with individuals across the business to achieve goals, while proactively looking for opportunities to continue building strong internal relationships
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with internal JPMC systems (e.g. Salesforce/Catalyst, Company IQ, Client Central, PitchPro) as well as data visualization tools (Qliksense, Tableau, etc.)
