Overview

The Quantity Analyst (Takeoff Specialist) is an entry level estimating position responsible for assisting with preconstruction activities and the pursuit of industrial construction projects. This position is responsible for accurately quantifying, pricing, strategizing, and preparing estimate packages to secure profitable work. You will bring a positive, “can-do” attitude, a strong drive to “make it happen”, top-notch professionalism, and the desire to be a lifelong learner and advance as opportunities are presented.

The Quantity Analyst has regular contact with project and preconstruction teams. This position reports directly to the Lead Estimator and is considered part of the Operations team.

Responsibilities:

• Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project.
• Coordinate with the estimating team for procurement on pricing of materials and equipment.
• Develop and perform itemized, detailed, organized, and accurate material and labor-hour estimates based off project specifications and drawings.
• Perform manual takeoffs and compile estimates using digitized software such as QuoteSoft and B2W as applicable.
• Track and prepare technical assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Itemize discrepancies and risks to ensure proposal documents are presented accurately for the estimate.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Equivalent technical experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Desired Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in estimating or related role.
• Construction estimating takeoff experience.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Strong acumen in mathematical calculations and data processing.
• Experience using software such as Microsoft Project/Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse team to achieve results.

Working Conditions:

• This position is based out of our corporate office in Vancouver, WA. Occasional travel may be required to support JR Merit’s projects.
• Work is generally performed while standing or sitting, in an office environment, with a computer and telephone.
• This role requires the ability to utilize, maintain, and wear all PPE as required by JR Merit, the client, and any other applicable regulatory agency or management directive.
• At times, work may be performed at a jobsite where additional training, certifications, or clearances may be needed to comply with jobsite requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Compensation Range:

$70,000-$79,000
