What are the responsibilities and job description for the Demand Planner II position at JR286?
The JR286 Demand Planner II will support our Nike accessory business with overseeing the appropriate demand and inventory levels. This role works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Product, Supply Planning, and Finance teams to diagnose problems in forecast and other processes by assessing the impact to KPIs and overall inventory levels. The Demand Planner II will make appropriate adjustments to all processes and identify continuous ways to improve opportunity in Demand Planning and Buying.
What You’ll Do:
- Support and define a 6 – 18 month rolling, wholesale demand/buy plan on assigned Nike accessory categories.
- Monitor buy process for assigned Nike accessory categories from demand validation to buy proposal, including managaing Safety Stock levels and adjusting for “At Once” driven business.
- Manage in season inventory levels to find a balance between inventory risk and stock outs.
- Classify the global demand risk upside, downside, excess, and obsolescence and lead-time risks and provides needed information to sales and regional teams.
- Monitor global order income versus demand plans and propose actions in case of deviation.
- Develop and drive process improvements/lead system implementations to support the demand planning and buying functions that include automation efforts.
- Work closely with product development and sales operations to coordinate new product launches/transitions and support VDC/DTC directives.
- Track and improve forecast accuracy and drive business improvement from demand planning through to the buy process.
- Create and manage to company inventory targets based on collaborative sales forecasting.
- Other duties as assigned.
What to Bring:
- 3 - 4 years recent experience in a large-scale retail environment, allocating footwear, apparel, accessories or fashion-based products.
- BA/BS in supply chain or business administration.
- Experience with Sales and Operations Planning Process as a team member a plus.
- Ability to understand organizations strategic direction and execute tactically.
- Analytically strong; with the ability to look at numbers and draw conclusions about actions to be taken.
- Computer Proficiency including spreadsheets such as Excel and Oracle 11i ASCP, MRP, inventory and purchasing modules.
- Certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) or Six Sigma is a plus.
- Capable of operating in a fast paced, dynamic and evolving environment.
- Must be self-directed, able to communicate effectively management group.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excels in effective time management and able to work effectively in a team environment.
