JRC is currently seeking a level II Engineer. This position will have the primary responsibility of providing engineering-based services to the technical division of Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). This position will work closely with SSP program management leaders and technical subject matter experts. This position reports to JRC’s Systems Engineering and Integration Division and is located at JRC Headquarters in Washington, DC. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent years of experience.

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to support technical integration and testing efforts as it applies to the Fleet Ballistic Missile program.
Description:
This position will support SSP with engineering and testing-based services in support of its technical programs. The engineer will share expertise in developing strategies and plans to support the long-term growth and development of the COLUMBIA and Dreadnought test program. The engineer must have or gain an intimate working knowledge of SSP’s culture and practices.
Key Duties:
- Perform testing-based services in support of SSP’s Shipyard Installation Test Program
- Collect and develop program status and metrics updates for senior leader and external program reporting
- Develop, maintain, issue and track system engineering priorities including agenda, minutes and action items as required
- Coordinate with program stakeholders including other customer contractors/partners
- Develop and review documentation and supporting material for technical accuracy including robust Microsoft Excel files
- Format specifications, directives, and correspondence in accordance with Navy manual
- Review test procedures for standardization and technical accuracy
- Perform cost/benefit analysis of alternatives, technical evaluation of documentation, and problem resolution
- Trace and verify system requirements using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques

Specific Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have a BS in Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent years of experience

- Systems Engineering and Test knowledge
- Be proactive about challenges or constraints within a project and seek to address or enlist assistance from senior staff to manage them accordingly
- Propose solutions to problems that may conceptually address materials, manpower and time necessary
