Community Resource Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) provides information, training, and community-based resources to support the children and their families. The CRC facilitates community involvement and is a liaison between community, school, and home. The CRC identifies community resources available to families and serves as a mentor to families. The CRC will plan and hold family events.
REPORTS TO: Early Education and Operations Director (EEOD)
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL WORK:
The Community Resource Coordinator shall work in close collaboration with the Early Education Administrative Team. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
¨ Assist the Early Education Administrative Team in serving as a liaison with parents and staff to provide support and information linking to other community resources.
¨ Maintain sensitive and confidential records and reports.
¨ Provide support for families and work to develop a stronger family unit.
¨ Identify and follow through in reporting any social concerns to the appropriate outlet.
¨ Collaborate with community service providers, administrative staff and teaching staff in carrying out regular meetings to discuss immediate needs or concerns for children and families.
¨ Plan and manage events and functions for children and families.
¨ Support families in obtaining school and community resources.
¨ Serve as a member of the administrative team at the Learning Centers.
¨ Participate in evening activities such as parent-teacher conferences and programs, as needed.
¨ Provide continual professional development on school, family and community partnerships for all new and current teachers, support staff and administrators.
¨ Develop formal and informal two-way communication channels from school to home / community and from home / community to school.
¨ Serve as an advocate for our students as they are involved in community programs/events.
¨ Define appropriate outcomes for parents to achieve healthy parent-child interactions.
¨ Help to ensure participation in supporting and strengthening families.
¨ Assure all required documentation and record keeping is completed in a timely manner and records are maintained appropriately.
¨ Attend general staff and administrative meetings.
¨ Conduct meetings with teaching staff as the need arises on current intervention trends.
¨ Define appropriate outcomes for parents to achieve healthy parent-child interactions.
¨ Under guidance of a licensed professional, the CRC may be asked to set goals for each classroom environment in regards to behavior intervention strategies, and assure goals are met as assigned.
¨ Provide formal observations of teachers to the Assistant Director as needed.
¨ Research current trends in child development/ education and put into practice as appropriate.
¨ Represent the center in the community as assigned.
¨ May need to provide supportive service in other areas of center as needed and directed, including filling in ratio.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
¨ At least a two year degree in a related field, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
¨ Past experience working in social work or a related human services field preferred.
¨ Knowledge of community supports and resources within area served required.
¨ Experience related to Licensing Rules & Regulations as well as Step Up to Quality preferred.
¨ Must attend continuing training classes designed to broaden professionalism, education and skill as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
¨ May be required to lift, carry and manage equipment and supplies.
¨ May spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
¨ May be involved with a number of projects at one time or interrupted frequently.
¨ May find the environment to be noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
¨ Must be prepared to deal with emergencies and stressful situations at any time.
