PRODUCTION MANAGER
* Chicago based, well-known consumer products manufacturer with many decades of successes is hiring for a1STSHIFTProduction Manageroverseeing the compounding departments
* This role is open due to expansion of a new product line.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage, direct, and coordinate all activities related to the mixing departments to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
* Will have direct supervision responsibility of 10-20 employees
* Identify and resolve bottlenecks using lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies
* Set and achieve performance standards with regards to safety, line utilization and quality
* Develop a team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals
* Delivers effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact
* Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
* Track key performance indicators (KPIs), anticipate and correct trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets
REQUIREMENTS
* BS/BA is preferred, preferably in ChemicalEngineering, Biology, Chemistry, Operations Management, or related
* 5 years of prior leadership experience in a chemical processing, food or other closely related manufacturing environment is required
* MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MIXING, BLENDING AND OR BATCHING ENVIRONMENTS
* Excellent leadership skills and able to communicate effectively to all levels of management
* Quick learn, self-directed and self-managed
* Open to working an off shift as needed
Preferred experience:
* Experience with a continuous improvement background utilizing lean, six-sigma, TPM and similar methodologies
* Bi-lingual English / Spanish
