What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resins Operation Technician position at JSP?
Description
The purpose of the Resin Operations Technician is to operate all resins equipment and under the direction of JSP Management to lead the work of shift personnel, ensuring product quality, safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Start up, shut down, and operate resins equipment as needed to meet scheduled production demands. This position is required to be able to run all equipment and be able to do all the QC related to product quality in all the resins departments. For example: reactors, expanders, endotherm checks, etc…, or other work as needed following proper training.
- Transfer materials using computerized PLC transport system; complete all documentation using knowledge of lot numbering system and ability to document information for trace ability related to bead movement.
- Load and unload material trucks using transfer system. Move trucks in and out of docks and between JX1 and JX2 using the Yard Dog.
- Performs cleanouts of Resins equipment, screeners, check bins, etc… to ensure contamination free material.
- Continually monitors product quality, recommends and implements corrective action as needed to keep product running within established specifications while operating resins equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance of all resins equipment and related systems. Assists maintenance department in troubleshooting non-routine or complex equipment problems.
- Order, receive, and ship material and supplies as needed for JX2 operations
- Assist with JX1 operations when there is no production scheduled at JX2.
- All other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor or designee
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.
- Must be able to operate a forklift truck; which requires the use of arms and legs, the ability to get onto truck and depth perception to stack and/or move crates or other material.
- Must be able to operate Yard Dog for moving trailers.
- Must have finger dexterity and be able to see and hear.
- Must be able to climb and work from a ladder.
- Must be able to use scissor lift and work at heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Safety equipment consists of all forms of PPE such as; safety glasses, ear plugs and steel-toed shoes.
- Must be able to come to work as scheduled on a regular basis and be able to work scheduled shifts as necessary.
- Must be reliable, come to work as scheduled and work the required OT as needed
