Punch Press Operator -Stamping

Job description

JST Corporation is hiring stamping operators on multiple shifts!

2pm-10:30pm Monday through Friday.

10pm-630am Monday Through Friday

Summary: Operate high speed stamping press and product winders as necessary for production, inspecting production produced to detect any quality defects present. Support leads in daily department duties as requested by the shift leads. The operator will work with all presses in the stamping area.

Essential Duties And/Or Responsibilities:

• Position raw materials in and by stamping presses by identifying the correct materials required by the manufacturing orders.
• Inspect product being produced by using diagrams, blueprints, and check sheets.
• Working knowledge of inspection and measuring equipment.
• Assist other operators in stamping procedures and machine operation.
• Support their shift team with questions on quality and processes.
• Ability to make decisions concerning quality and machine operation.
• Contain suspect parts and write containments for defective parts and failed validations.
• Able to re-measure parts for out of control parts on SPC and verify completed containments.
• Understand and follow the 5S procedures
• Inspect completed lots and designate acceptance
• Update stamping boards for real time production, finish dates, priorities and maintenance information following the Priority Process Flow instructions.
• Maintain stamping lubrication oils.
• Continuously investigate for cost-saving ideas and improvements throughout the factory to better improve operational expenses.
• Clean stamping presses and production areas.
• Work as a self motivated individual with minimal supervision while functioning as a productive team member.
• Perform other duties as required or directed to ensure department quality and product objectives are met.

Internal Certifications

5 S certification

Internal Six Sigma Training

Gage R &R and certified on all manufacturing precision measuring equipment.

Education And/Or Experience

• Must be proficient in English-reading, writing skills and speaking.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent prior manufacturing experience.
• Previous molding, stamping, assembly or other type of machinery operation a plus, but will train.
• Knowledgeable on taking SPC measurements and entering data. Also be able to spot trends when they occur and write a containment based upon that information.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Working knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Able to make decisions concerning quality, machine operation and processing adjustments.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment: micrometers, dial calipers and comparators.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work on feet for an 8 hour shift.
• Identify small defects with the aid of a microscope.
• Lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment

• Eye protection and safety shoes are required in production area.
• Exposure to solvents used for department cleaning.
• Occasional noise over 100 decibels and dust generated by production.
• Fumes and odors emitted by machines during production in stamping and molding departments.
• Follow company Safety and Quality policies.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
