Introduction:

JT Wimsatt is looking for a well-organized, detail oriented Structural Concrete Estimator with advanced experience for our Valencia Diego office reporting to our Chief Estimator.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow Processes and Procedures.
• Communicate and work with clients.
• Review plans and specifications.
• Coordinate all design documents (A,S,C,L,M,E,P,etc.) into comprehensive bids.
• Take-off quantities of concrete materials and formwork.
• Review and apply appropriate prices and labor factors to materials, equipment, formwork, etc.
• Prepare a critical path durations schedule as part of the estimate.
• Thoroughly scope any subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit job specific comprehensive/clear/concise proposals.
• Review Prime Bid RFP requests, coordinate any specific scope requirements, subcontractor scope requirements, allowances, bonding requirements, and prepare all required bid forms as well as any related bid documents.
• Follow-up, negotiate and procure new work.
• Participate in transition of job from estimating to project management (including planning, buyouts, scope, etc).
• Participate in weekly estimating meetings per agenda.
• Attend job walk meetings.
• Schedule strategy sessions on target jobs – pre and post bid.
• Maintain and update bid tracking sheet, lead tracking sheet and bid closing spreadsheet.
• Attend key networking functions.
• Meet with key clients as needed.
• Participate in client interviews.
• Facilitate customer service by letting other departments know client concerns or issues.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

• Degree/Certificates in software or construction classes - but not required
• Associate or Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred but not required

Physical Demands

• Mental alertness is necessary to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activities.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and efficiently operate computer.
• Ability to occasionally lift plans weighing up to 30 lbs.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary $90,000 to $175,000 based on experience
