Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is seeking data science and data analytics professionals to work in support of an intelligence community organization in the Northern Virginia area. There are multiple positions supporting task order activities including ETL, data engineering, data strategy and architecture, data analytics, and data-focused software engineering for DevOps environments.
Data Engineers will provide engineering support to the data science and software engineering team members for systems engineering and reviewing and providing technical assessments. There are multiple task areas supporting current system architecture documentation, engineering and web development programming support, and data science and data engineering related technical assessments. All areas require effective communication with users and managers. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting an Intelligence Community customer in a data analytics environment using open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization. Current security clearance credentials are required.

- Work as part of a blended team of government and contractor personnel including data scientists and analysts assigned according to project needs.
- Provide expertise on data concepts for advanced analytics and inspire the adoption of advanced analytics, data engineering and data science across the organization.
- Support continuous pipelines/installation of continuous pipelines for large pools of unfiltered information.
- Support activities for extracting and aggregating structured and unstructured data.
Education and qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship
- Current TS/SCI with full scope polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, or technical discipline)
- Multiple positions and years of related experience providing data analytics support in a U.S. defense or intelligence environment
- 0-2 years of related experience
- 3-6 years of related experience
- 7-10 years of related experience
- 11 years of related experience
- Experience designing and implementing data models to enable, sustain and enhance the value of information
- Experience working with the manipulation of unstructured data in a data analytics environment
- Knowledge of open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to work in a dynamic team environment
Required Technical Skills/Experience Areas Vary by Position and may include but are not limited to:
- Experience deploying scripts with AWS
- Experience with ETL code and tools
- Programming experience using Python, Java, Perl, C, C
- Experience with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
- Experience maintaining and optimizing Elastic clusters
- Experience working and developing capabilities in Linux and Windows
- Experience with automating project builds using shell scripts, Jenkins, and using/writing Makefiles
- Experience with Linux bash shell scripting
- Experience with SQL database systems including Postgre SQL and MySQL/MariaDB
- Experience with large-scale, massively parallel distributed data processing tools including Spark, Hadoop, Presto, NiFi
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Regular Expressions, JSON
- Experience with API usage and integration
- Experience building a Python web server and performing setup in Flask
- Experience working with varied file types including text, image, video, audio, binary
- Experience working with geospatial tools and data
- Knowledge of machine learning is a plus
Preferred Technical Skills/Experience Areas include:
- Experience using automated data frameworks
- Experience working with automated deployment tools including CloudFormation, Jenkins, Docker
- Experience with Microservices FastAPI
