Accountant – General Accounting SUMMARY AND PURPOSE -The responsibilities of this role are to ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying, and recording transactions into the general ledger system, executing, and organizing monthly closing procedures and performing financial account analysis. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates monthly closing activities, communicating deadlines, facilitates closing process with IT Oracle GL maintenance, prepaid accounting, various accounting accruals analysis Prepares a variety of month-end reconciliations and other supporting documentation. Assists with all month-end financial reporting – Stravis and Tagetik Calculates company-wide Benefits expense journal. Maintains an in-depth working knowledge of Oracle GL, Projects, and Asset modules, teaching and guiding others. Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies and procedures in accordance with JSOX requirements. Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal customers to consistently improve (Kaizen) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Experience working in an accounting department for a large manufacturing business. Motivated, Proactive, takes ownership of assigned tasks. Works well within in a general ledger team, supporting others and the achievement of goals and objectives (Hoshin). Excellent time management skills, meeting all required deadlines. Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts, monthly close process, IFRS and GAAP. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management.   Flexible to taking on new tasks and expanding knowledge on new EPM systems. Strong analytical skills, has attention to detail and accuracy. Expert Microsoft Excel Suite Products and Oracle ERP a plus. EDUCATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES Bachelor’s or advanced degree in – Accounting Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a large manufacturing accounting setting CPA and or public accounting experience a plus This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is performed in both remote and onsite office settings on a weekly basis.   The role has minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.  Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection. Travel by automobile and plane may be required approximately 5% of the time.
