JOB SUMMARY:
The Driver I performs duties to ensure safe and timely delivery of products to customers, complying with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving the making of minor decisions.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate vehicle to deliver products to hospitals, clinics, and other facilities as instructed;
Conduct wipes and surveys; Operate single channel analyzer to determine contamination level, and document results;
Collect and return used materials and instruments; Check returns for contamination and dispose properly; Disassemble syringes, dispose of needles into approved container, remove label from container and test for contamination; Restock clean returns and instruments into inventory;
May assist in activities to prepare products for delivery, including packing and wrapping doses for delivery; May also assist in labeling and arranging syringes in preparation for dose drawing;
Perform basic equipment checks; ensure proper function and correct readings;
Maintain currency and knowledge of radiation safety; Remain knowledgeable of current organizational, state and federal guidelines pertaining to the transportation and handling of radioactive materials;
Assist to maintain organization and cleanliness of the lab; Set up packages for next day or shift; Perform basic housekeeping;
Communicate the need for recommended or required vehicle service; Deliver vehicle to maintenance provider;
May receive packages and assist in restocking of inventory;
Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow, to meet schedules and quality requirements;
Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies;
Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition;
Perform other related duties as assigned;
Correctly perform QC testing and proper shipping of RAM; required
Leadership responsibilities will be expected
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Company vehicle, syringes, small test tubes, single channel analyzer, dose calibrators, and survey meters.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Driver or runner work experience preferred;
Reference and interpretation of DOT guidelines pertaining to the transportation of radioactive products;
Strong organizational skills along with effective time management skills;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Customer focused; team oriented
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND/OR VISUAL DEMAND:
Light, occasional physical effort required to move, lift and deliver containers and boxes up to 65lbs. Continuous mental and visual attention required to drive vehicle and deliver products, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity. Ability to operate vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license. Ability to work long and unusual hours to include third shift, weekends and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position responsibilities are carried out in a pharmacy setting with travel to the various delivery locations.
