Job Summary
Lead the Moe's Deli department, ensuring the timely delivery of product to customers in a friendly and professional manner, to include assisting in the inventory and ordering of supplies. Provide support to the deli employees ensuring an engaged and productive workforce. Provide a world class customer experience, including greeting all customers, responding to questions, operating cash register, and preparing food. Conduct company business and execute programs on behalf of the company in a professional manner and with a whole company approach.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Lead the Moe's Deli department, ensuring the timely delivery of product to customers in a friendly and professional manner, to include inventory and ordering of supplies.
- Serves as customer advocate ensuring customer satisfaction, answering customer questions and resolving issues.
- Assists in managing deli supplies, monitoring product waste, determining inventory levels, contacting vendors regarding product promotions/credits and placing orders, setting pars, ensuring accurate deli transfers of product items, and monitoring portion controls.
- Responsible for a variety of cash handling duties, including but not limited to, receiving customer money, operating a cash register, making change, and balancing till.
- Prep, cook, and sell various food items such as sandwich meats and vegetables. Safely operate a variety of food processing equipment including, but not limited to, Deep Fryers, Grills, and Knifes.
- Keeps prepared food and supplies well stocked at all times. Maintains stock rotation, and clean food display case throughout shift. Consistently monitor temperature of perishable food items.
- Ensures clean uniforms and uniform and appearance standards are being applied and consistently followed by the team.
- Ensure department is clean and welcoming. Maintain adequate supplies and ensure prep levels are followed.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Maintain video poker and lottery machines; change paper as needed, troubleshoot problems.
- Sell and redeem lottery and video poker tickets.
- Provide support to the deli employees ensuring an engaged and productive workforce.
- Assists in on-boarding new employees to ensure a trained and capable staff.
- Provide an engaging and productive work environment by listening to employees, providing support and resources, and demonstrating hands-on leadership; foster team work and collaboration.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, teamwork, and safety within the department.
- Provide a world class customer experience, including greeting all customers, responding to questions, operating cash register, and preparing food.
- Maintain high standards of work performance and World Class Customer Experience.
- Provides example of World Class Customer Experience to department by following uniform guidelines, attendance policy, and customer service including ensuring department is open on time.
- Conduct company business and execute programs on behalf of the company in a professional manner and with a whole company approach.
- Responsible for ensuring a sanitary and safe work environment at all times, keeping all safety data sheets current and accessible, and training team members on their contents.
- Inspection of teams sanitation duties regularly ensuring the department receives high score in health department inspections.
- Ensure WCCE and comment card ratings remain at or above goal standards.
- Communicates effectively with deli team members on customer specials, and assist in ensuring full team attendance at all companywide WCCE trainings and monthly department team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum one year experience in a food-service establishment required.
- Must have valid Oregon Food Handlers card.
- Prior supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Strong cash handling experience required.
- Must be able to change the paper in all gaming machines as well as validators.
- Must be able to fix poker machines when they go down.
- Previous inventory and ordering experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
- Must be able to handle a wide variety of personalities and problem situations to achieve highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good customer relations.
Additional Notes
This position is regularly required to stand or walk for a minimum of eight hours, operate a cash register, and communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to talk, taste, hear, and see. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to lift 50 pounds to waist and frequently required to lift 25 pounds to chest or above. The company operates out of several buildings spread across a multi-acre campus. Ability to travel between buildings is sometimes necessary.
