Description:
We are working with a food manufacturer 45 minutes south of Rochester, NY seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the smooth operation of all machinery, equipment, and infrastructure critical to production. You will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance team, managing schedules, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
Maintenance Strategy: Develop and execute maintenance strategies, schedules, and procedures to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality of machinery and equipment.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address potential equipment issues, reduce breakdowns, and optimize performance.
Equipment Repair: Oversee and coordinate equipment repairs, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure minimal disruption to production.
Budgeting and Resource Management: Manage maintenance budgets effectively, procure necessary parts and resources, and maintain inventory levels to support maintenance operations.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and quality standards, fostering a culture of safety within the maintenance team and throughout the facility.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs for management review.
Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, services, and procurement of necessary parts or equipment.
Training and Development: Identify training needs within the maintenance team and provide or arrange appropriate training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in maintenance management within a food manufacturing or similar industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, and systems.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficiency in implementing preventive maintenance programs and strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to food manufacturing environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
