Description: Client within the food production industry is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in the Millville, NJ area. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of our facility and equipment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This is a hands-on position that requires a proactive approach to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly. This is a M-F opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues or malfunctions.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs, such as replacing defective parts or components.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or systems as needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies in maintenance techniques.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical skills with knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Familiarity with maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy equipment when required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to maintenance work.
