Recreational Gymnastics Coach

If you can do a handstand and a cartwheel and are looking for an afternoon job where you can make a positive difference in children's lives, you've found the perfect job.

Jump! Gymnastics is a non-competitive children's gymnastics school focused on making learning fun through thematic classes, while building confidence through Jump!'s innovative skill growth program.

Ideal candidates have experience in either gymnastics, dance, cheer, yoga or related sport or have previous childcare experience (including babysitting).

Typical Day

• 3:00 Preparation: Clock in, check work email and prepare for classes
• 3:20 Coaching: Coach four 50 minute classes with 4 - 6 students in each class. During the 10 minutes between each class, communicate with parents about student's progress, enter student absences and skills achieved.
• 7:20 Administrative Tasks: Write birthday cards for students with upcoming birthdays, prepare award ribbons for students that have mastered an event, prepare advancement cards for students that have mastered the level, check in on students who were absent 2x in a row or have requested to be dropped from class
• 7:30 Cleaning: Complete assigned cleaning duties
• 7:45 Departure: Check work email and clock out

Additional Required Events

• Training: Jump! is also a licensed childcare facility and therefore 2 hours of additional training per month is required (this is online and you are paid for completing the training or the trainings are provided by the company).
• Staff Meetings: Every 8 weeks there is a mandatory 2 hour staff meeting on Monday nights from 7:30pm - 9:30pm
• Advancement Shows: Every 8 weeks there is a mandatory advancement show on a Saturday.
• Parents Night Out: There is a Parent's Night Out 1 Friday per month, all team members must work 6 Parent Night Outs per year.
• Camp Jump!: Jump! offers day camps when AISD schools are closed. All team members are assigned to work camp days as their school schedule allows.

Requirements:

• Age 18 or over
• Pass Background Check
• Must be able to safely demonstrate a handstand and a cartwheel during the interview
• Must be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts a week from 3pm to 8pm and Saturdays from 9am - 3pm.
• Must be able to commit a consistent evening schedule for a minimum of 1 year

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to see and hear clearly 20 yards away.
• Ability to provide sustained attention to students during class time in the gym.
• Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb onto a spotting block to assist athletes.
• Ability to spot a gymnast, including the strength to lift and carry at minimum 50 pounds.
• Ability to move equipment including the strength to push or pull at minimum 50 pounds.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
