Wind Turbine Unit Production Positions : Gel Coat Technician Job Purpose : Prepare and coat molds for next stage of production.
Duties : · Mask off and clean surface of molds per the provided work instruction, in a safe and timely manner. · Coat molds with polyester gel coats contains styrene using proper PPE and safety guidelines.
A respirator, if necessary, a pulmonary exam, and fit test will be mandatory to perform this task. · Reaching over head and stooping while spraying for durations in excess of 5 minutes at a time in a pattern-like motion is required for coating molds.
Ability to climb up and down production scaffolding and push 55-gallon drum platform on wheels is also necessary. · Accurately fill out travel documents daily before releasing part to next stage of production.
- Keep spray booth clean to meet OSHA safety standards and maintain emissions filters on a weekly basis. · Meet schedule deadlines set out daily by management within reason.
- Participates in buddy system regarding PPE and safety. · Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for professional attitude, language, and appearance while on shift or in uniform.
Skills / Qualifications : · Ability to spray atomized gel coat MVP Patriot System at a consistent mil thickness of 25-30 mils.
- Care for and maintain MVP Patriot gel coat system. · Ability maneuver over 100lbs on a drum dolly. · Ability to pass and utilize forklift training and operate forklift.
