Development and Origination Analyst

Jupiter seeks to grow its team with the recruitment of a key hire to help support project development and origination activities. The position would be a comprehensive introduction to the early stage of the energy storage development cycle and would give a new employee the chance to get exposure to many aspects of the industry. As a tight-knit, interdisciplinary team, we collaborate on priorities and expect individuals to be flexible and focused on advancing the broader team goals. This individual is expected to be a quick learner, hard-working, and enthusiastic about collaborating across teams to advance Jupiter’s significant and growing platform. Key Responsibilities

·        Research potential new project sites, including real estate, permitting, environmental, and other development attributes and make recommendations on which sites to pursue

·        Lead market research about potential opportunities, customers, and competitors, analyze data, and formulate a summary and/or recommendation to present internally

·        Coordinate with development, finance, engineering, market operations and other departments to develop solutions for customers, including assisting in the development of proposals and pricing for opportunities

·        Prepare and maintain project budgets, project schedules, and project financial models, in collaboration with development and finance teams

·        Vet and prepare documents for legal and commercial review and execution

·        Assist with management of project consultants

·        Prepare and process scheduled payments for project activities

·        Manage reporting needs to upper management and internal approval processes

Preferred Skills & Experience

·        Unafraid to work hard, and take ownership and initiative in order to be effective within a highly motivated, fast-moving team

·        Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with limited information

·        Eager to wear multiple hats depending on business need and project priorities

·        A desire to grow in the role and take on more and more responsibility with an eye towards eventually owning projects

·        Educational or professional focus relevant to energy, development, land use, economics or environmental science, preferably with internship or related experience in the renewable energy development industry

·        Familiarity with energy storage technologies and deployments is preferred

·        Experience collaborating with diverse teams to successfully deliver complex projects

Compensation and benefits offered will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate but will be a robust and competitive package. The role will be based in Chicago, IL and the individual will be expected to be present in the office certain days of the week but will retain significant flexibility.
