John R. Jurgensen Company, a local contractor in Cincinnati, OH, has an opening for a Project Manager - Estimator. This role will allow you to work on various types and scale of projects throughout your career. We specialize in earthwork, pipe installation, demolition, aggregate base layers, and paving projects.

Responsibilities
- Provide initial client contact to assess scope of work and resources required to successfully complete the project.
- Prepare complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawing, takeoff information, contracting and the like.
- Coordinate total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, engineering principles, and company standards, customer contract requirements, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives and other contractors.
- Plan and coordinate on-site functions such as scheduling, engineering, equipment and material control, sub contractor management, and contractual performance of the project.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required. Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
- Provide administrative duties to prepare and submit documentation needed for control and contractual performance as well as invoicing and project costing among others.
- Required to obey all safety policies whether the work is indoors or on a job site.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associate degree or professional certificate in Business Management / Construction Management / Engineering or similar degree.
- Minimum of 2 plus years construction experience (experience in roadway / heavy civil construction is a plus).
- Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) project experience is preferred.
- Asphalt construction bidding experience in one or multiple sectors in the market (private and government agencies) is preferred.
- Proficient with HCSS and Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Diversified knowledge of project management principles and practices in broad areas related to highway, utilities, infrastructure, and earthwork.
- Ability to solve complex issues with limited direction.
