Manufacturing Supervisor (Rotating for Marshmallow & Sanitation)
The successful candidate will provide leadership to Marshmallow (MM) and Sanitation departments (2nd & 3rd shift MM Cooking & Packing and 3rd shift & Weekend Sanitation Departments) by meeting the established standards of quality and cost, and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices while ensuring a clean and safe environment for all associates. Core hours when not covering for a supervisor will be approximately 7:00 pm to 3:30 am. Coordinating and working collaboratively with all support departments is needed.
Key responsibilities of this position are:
* Supervise associates and maintain smooth efficient operations of designated area for safe production of quality products in accordance with Company standards while consistently evaluating and optimizing schedules.
* Support development and execution of a proactive safety culture focusing on behaviors that prevent safety incidents from occurring. Maintain safe working practices and conditions, conduct safety inspections and incident investigations. Counsel associates on safety and safe work practices.
* Create a positive work environment that encourages innovation by fully utilizing the synergy of all associates. Maintain an open line of communication with associates and union stewards. Provide guidance, leadership and direction to associates. Recognize exceptional performance in a timely manner.
* Direct efforts in assigned area to achieve goals in safety, quality, efficiency, costs, budgets and waste.
* Assume complete accountability for the development of all associates in their area to include record keeping, evaluation of skills and training.
* Effectively lead problem solving activities with root cause analysis and measurable, accountable action plans. Develop a culture of problem solvers with direct reports embracing related activities.
* Support an environment of Continuous Improvement by challenging the status quo. Actively pursue the necessary resources and training to aid associates in achievement of improvements.
* Responsible for inspections, identification, follow up and correction of all sanitation issues within their operation.
* Ensure compliance with all Company rules and policies, government regulations and the labor agreement, and that disciplinary procedures are handled in a consistent manner within those parameters.
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
* High school diploma or GED required. Formal training after high school (vocational, business or technical school) or an Associate's Degree desired.
* Minimum five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment and prior production experience required.
* Possess the following skills and attributes: management skills, leadership qualities, planning & execution, training & development, coaching, teamwork, customer focus and emotional intelligence.
* Advanced technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement techniques (in a food environment desired).
* Kronos time and attendance and SAP knowledge desired.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
