Overview:
To ensure welded components meet customer weld parameters. Ensure machined parts and component assemblies meet customer and dimensional specifications. Assist in the daily operations of the Quality Assurance Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The visual inspection of welds and components includes the ability to identify improper or sub-standard welds to a variety of welded components.
- The ability to perform multi-plane dimensional inspections. Record dimensional inspection findings onto various documents.
- Generate PPAP reports, including first article inspections.
- Conduct all types of performance tests.
- Identify accepted and rejected components and route to the proper location
- Assist in the calibration of dimensional measuring equipment.
- Assist in the training of new inspectors.
- Perform internal Quality Audits.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Customer, ISO 9001/AS9100, and Regulatory requirements.
- Direct the workflow through the inspection department.
- Maintain the inspection gauge calibration process.
- Oversee and facilitate quality inspectors.
- The ability to interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and the use of geometric dimensional and tolerancing (GD&T).
- The ability to interpret procedures and work instructions.
- The ability to use complex measuring equipment (calipers, comparator, go/no go gauges, gauge blocks, height gauges, indicators, micrometers, pin gauges, and other equipment).
- The ability to demonstrate and establish any necessary dimensional layouts.
- The ability to use visual inspection equipment (microscopes and sight pipes).
- The ability to use special test devices (leak testers, force gauges, hardness testers).
- The ability to use SPC (x Bar-R charts, process capability studies, gauges, and R & R studies).
- Approve time-off requests from the Quality Assurance personnel
- Sign-off daily timesheets of Quality Assurance personnel
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the Inspectors, by determining priorities and workflow.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent and professional training courses.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of quality department or machining experience.
- Previous experience in reading blueprints.
- Knowledge of lean methodologies is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Vision corrected to 20/25.
- Color vision: average to normal
- Normal dexterity
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
While on the shop floor, you must wear safety glasses.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
