Qualifications:
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:
Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR
Specialized Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Qualifying specialized experience must have involved preparing and serving food in mass quantities for large groups of people.

Responsibilities:
Assists the Food Service Administrator in the management and direction of a team of civilian and inmate food service workers in the preparation and serving of all inmate meals (including medical, religious and regular diets).
Responsible for assisting in the management of the overall food service program for an inmate population of a Federal correctional facility.
Participates in establishing safety and sanitary procedures.
Responsible for ensuring a safe environment in the department.
Supervises subordinate supervisors, who in turn provide supervision and instruction to inmate workers in all phases of the preparation, presentation and timeliness of all food items on the serving line.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
