What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer position at Justin Doyle Homes?
The CAD Designer role will be working closely with the JDH Design Director and outside Architectural/Engineering firms to create stock floor plans, elevation, standard options and support our new and upcoming communities. Meeting company goals and standards of producing accurate drawings in an efficient and timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead, Manage, and Accountability (LMA) for the CAD Design Department.
2. Utilize SoftPlan and AutoCAD to complete bid sets and final construction permit drawings.
3. Utilize CAD software to draw floor plan, standard structural options and maintain a catalog of master plan sets.
4. Utilize CAD software to create 2D and 3D design drawings.
5. Decipher hand drawn architectural sketches and enter them into CAD.
6. Assist in developing conceptual drawings for new floor plans.
7. Manage assignments and end products of internal and external architectural/engineering firms.
8. Work with future Homeowners and our Sales Team throughout the sales process.
9. Work with Local Building Officials and Plans Examiners during the plan examination and permit submission.
10. Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit ability of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelors degree in related field or Interior Design degree- 2 or 4 year.
-Proficient in SoftPlan and AutoCAD.
-5 years previous design experience required.
-Knowledgeable about local, state and national building codes.
-Familiarity with the home building industry required.
-Ability to interpret blueprints for all phases of construction.
-Knowledgeable about housing industry products: cabinets, flooring, tile, appliances, lights, plumbing fixtures, etc.
-Technical proficiency in SoftPlan, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
-Strong written and verbal skills.
-Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.89 - $27.57 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
