Summary
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, develops and executes sourcing strategies in support of the purchasing function.
Responsibilities;
- Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers that offer a competitive advantage to the organization.
- Manages the organization's RFP process and evaluates potential suppliers to ensure that cost, quality, inventory levels, and supply chain operations meet organizational needs.
- Tracks supplier performance and compliance with expectations or contractual terms.
- Identifies duplicated purchases across the organization and leverages bulk purchasing power to negotiate price discounts.
- Ensures that all purchasing activities comply with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- May work in a specialized purchasing area, such as commodities or raw materials.
- Assist with identifying, developing, and qualifying new suppliers in support of the businesses' global supply chain
- Develop and own strategic matrix of suppliers to identify risks, gaps and opportunities in supply chain
- Support business leadership teams by understanding their product category strategies and identify create sourcing strategies to achieve business requirements
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities to reduce cost in the system
- Monitor commodity changes and tariffs to proactively manage impact on business.
- Proactively leverage risk management practices that protect JSG from supply interruptions and other unanticipated risks through due diligence, contract negotiations, and supplier management
- Support operations and product development to ensure contingencies and buy/make/partner are appropriately evaluated and identified.
- Collaborates with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams to develop and maintain quarterly supplier scorecard system
- Create sustainable and consistent processes for strategic sourcing initiatives, RFQ/P, and commodity management
- Work with Legal team to ensure business interests are represented in contracts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field
- 8 or more years of experience in sourcing
- Experience in working with different ERP systems
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies
